# Facts & Formulae leaflets

We publish a series of Facts, Formulae and Information leaflets, in conjunction with mathcentre and sigma CETL that contain commonly used (undergraduate) mathematical formulae.

Print copies of these leaflets are available free of charge to members of staff from UK Higher Education Institutions. ### Facts & Formulae leaflets (Reference: FF1)

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information for the following topics: algebra, trigonometry, hyperbolic functions, matrices and derterminants, sequences and series, complex numbers, integration and differentiation.

### Mechanics Facts and Formulae (Reference: FF2)

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information for the following topics: vectors, Newton's laws of motion, forces, impulse and momentum, kinematics, projectiles, work, energy and power, and rigid bodies. They will be particularly useful for those on mathematics, engineering, materials sciences and physics undergraduate programmes.

### Probability & Statistics Facts, Formulae and Information(Reference: FF3)

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information on the following statistical topics: sampling distributions, linear regression, correlation, hypothesis testing, descriptive statistics, probability, measures of dispersion, permutations and combinations, and the central limit theorem. They will be particularly useful for those on any undergraduate programme which contains a significant statistical component.

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information on the following mathematical topics that will be particularly appropriate to those teaching computer science within higher education: sets and Venn diagrams, set algebra, logic, truth tables, binary relations, complexity funcations, and combinatorics.

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information for the following topics: vector calculus, spherical polar coordinates, cylindrical polar coordinates, functions of complex variables, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Fourier series, Fourier transforms, discrete Fourier transforms, Laplace transform, z transform, numerical integration and ordinary differential equations.

These three fold leaflets contain common formulae and information to support the teaching and learning of economics.  Topics covered include arithmetic, alebra, proportion and percentage, sigma notation, differentiation, integration and graphs of common functions.

These six fold leaflets contain common formulae and information to support the teaching and learning of chemistry.  Topics covered include arithmetic, trigonometry, matrices and determinants, algebra, graphs of common functions, differentiation, integration, mixtures, general and reaction thermodynamics, vectors, kinetics, physical constants, units and conversions, amount of substance, gases and phases.

### Supporting Statistics in Medicine booklet (Reference:FF8)

Produced in conjunction with the HEA Medicine, Dentristry and Veterinary Medicine (MEDEV) Subject Centre, this booklet focuses on statistics supporting evidence based medicine.  It includes sampling didtribution and confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, estimation and clinical significance, handling risk, screening and diagnostic tests, general concepts of correlation and simpler linear regression, survival prognosis and sample size.
